The Norse depicted their rituals as symbols in order to understand their world, a world whose symbolism represented the ceremonial battles between winter and summer, day and night.
For the Norse, the "Day / Sun Ship" was an icon of the path of the sun. The disk above the ship represents the sun as it is this ship that, carrying this heavenly body, enables its eternal journey.

These Talismans and the other pieces of the "Petroglyph" collection are inspired by rock carvings all over the World and more particularly the ones from the Nordic Bronze Age.

Day Ship symbols - as well as those of simpler ships - have been found carved into many rocks among Scandinavia, but similar rock carvings were also uncovered in Egypt.

- Handmade by me.
- Sterling silver (950) sustainable and ethically recycled in France.
- Crafted upon order.
- The ship size is approximately: 4.2 x 2.5 cm / 1.65 x 0.95 inches

Each jewel is sawn, assembled by soldering, hammered then polished ; entirely handmade. Each one is unique and has its very own shape and character.

- The pendant is also available without chain.

Note: on the version without chain the jumpring will be slightly bigger to allow chains or cords to go through.

Les Vikings décrivaient leurs rituels à travers des symboles dépeignant leur monde, un monde dont le symbolisme était rythmé par les batailles cérémonielles entre l'hiver et l'été, le jour et la nuit.
Pour les Scandinaves, le "Bateau de Soleil / Jour" était symbolique du chemin du soleil. Le disque au-dessus du bateau représente le soleil car c'est ce navire qui, transportant l'astre, permet son voyage éternel.

Ces talismans ainsi que les autres pièces de la collection "Pétroglyphe" s'inspirent des gravures rupestres du monde entier et plus particulièrement de celles de l'âge de bronze nordique.

Des symboles de Bateaux de Soleil - ainsi que ceux de navires plus simples - ont été retrouvés gravés dans de nombreux rochers en Scandinavie, mais des gravures rupestres semblables ont également été découvertes en Égypte.

Chaque bijou est scié, assemblé par soudure, martelé et poli ; le tout entièrement à la main. Chacun est unique et possède une forme et un caractère qui lui sont propres.

50, 55 ou 60cm (représenté ici avec une chaîne de 50cm)

- Le pendentif est également disponible sans chaîne.

A noter: dans la version sans chaîne l'anneau sera légèrement plus grand afin de permettre aux chaînes ou cordons de passer.
