CREPITACULA. PROTECTION ARTEFACT, FOLK RATTLE ↟ wicker + customisable silver medallion

▵ H I S T O R Y ▵
"Crepitacula" is a traditional wicker rattle originated in the French medieval era and it is believed to have the magical power to protect newborns from the 7 deadly sins symbolised by the 7 small pebbles or seeds it contains.

Its properties can be enhanced by the symbol you will choose to have stamped on the medallion.

Its name comes from the Latin word given to the very first rattle.
It can also act as a general protection artefact.

▵ C O L L A B O R A T I O N ▵
The Crepitacula was born from a collaboration with the weaver Lola / Les.Nuances.Fauves (lesnuancesfauves.fr)
Lola will create the rattle and I will craft the medallion.

▵ D E S C R I P T I O N ▵
- Rattle material: white wicker, rattan splint
- Height: variable, about 20cm
- Medallions: sterling silver - about 0.28 inches / 0.7cm
- Ornaments: 7 black beans, velvet ribbon, bell

Non-contractual photos: each lucky rattle is unique and echoes, by its appearance, the specific characteristics of the strands that constitute it. The photos illustrate by way of example.

✵ Disclaimer:
This rattle is a decorative item sold as a curiosity. It is in no way a toy and should be placed out of reach of babies or toddlers.

In order to make this rattle unique, we offer the addition of a reversible miniature medallion in recycled silver with an antique finish, hand-crafted by me.
Elegantly attached to the rattle with a black cotton cord, it is easily detachable and can become a discreet jewel that will last through the ages.

The medallion is personalisable with any letter and/or symbol of your choice (see last pic for examples).

"Crepitacula" est un hochet traditionnel en osier qui s'inscrit dans l'héritage médiéval d'une fonction magique réputée protéger les nouveaux-nés des 7 péchés capitaux symbolisés par les 7 petits cailloux ou graines qu'il renferme.

Ses propriétés pourront être renforcées par le symbole que vous choisirez de faire apposer sur le médaillon.

Son nom vient du mot latin qui fût donné au tout premier hochet.
Il peut également agir comme artefact de protection générale.

- Matière du hochet : osier blanc, éclisse de rotin
- Hauteur : variable, environ 20cm
- Médaillons : argent massif recyclé - environ 0.28 inches / 0.7cm
- Ornements : 7 haricots noirs, ruban de velours, grelot

Photos non contractuelle : chaque hochet porte-bonheur est unique et répond, par son apparence, aux caractéristiques propres des brins qui le constituent. Les photos illustrent à titre d'exemple.

Ce hochet est un article décoratif vendu en tant que curiosité. Il ne constitue en aucun cas un jouet et doit être placé hors de portée des tout-petits.

Afin de rendre ce hochet unique, nous vous proposons l'ajout d'un médaillon miniature en argent recyclé avec une finition antique, fabriqué à la main par mes soins.
Élégamment attaché au hochet à l'aide d'un cordon de coton noir il est ainsi facilement détachable et peut devenir un discret bijou qui traversera les âges.

Le médaillon est personnalisable avec n'importe quelle lettre et/ou symbole de votre choix (voir dernière photo pour des exemples).
