In Norse mythology, four stags (or harts or elks) eat among the branches of the World-Tree Yggdrasil. According to the Poetic Edda, the stags crane their necks upward to chomp at the branches. Their names are given as Dáinn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr and Duraþrór (Durathrór).

These Talismans and the other pieces of the "Petroglyph" collection are inspired by rock carvings all over the World and more particularly the ones from the Nordic Bronze Age.

Early suggestions for interpretations of the stags included connecting them with the four elements, the four seasons, or the phases of the moon.

This listing is for one Talisman.

- Handmade by me.
- Sterling silver (950) sustainable and ethically recycled in France.
- Crafted upon order.
- The stag size is approximately: 2.5 x 4.5 cm / 0.8 x 1.8 inches.

Each talisman is sawn, assembled by soldering, hammered then polished ; entirely handmade. Each one is unique and has its very own shape and character.

50, 55 ou 60cm / 19.7, 20.7 or 21.7 inches (pictured here with a 19.7 inches chain).

- The pendant is also available without chain.

Note: on the version without chain the jumpring will be slightly bigger to allow chains or cords to go through.

Dans la mythologie nordique, quatre cerfs (ou harts ou élans) grignotent les branches du frêne Yggdrasill. Selon l’Edda Poétique, les cerfs étirent leur cou vers le haut afin d'accéder aux branches. Ils se nomment Dáinn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr et Duraþrór (Durathrór).

Ces talismans ainsi que les autres pièces de la collection "Pétroglyphe" s'inspirent des gravures rupestres du monde entier et plus particulièrement de celles de l'âge de bronze nordique.

D'anciennes interprétations suggèrent notamment que des cerfs pourraient représenter les quatre éléments, les quatre saisons ou les phases de la lune.

- Le cerf mesure approximativement : 2.5 x 4.5 cm / 0.8 x 1.8 inches.

Chaque talisman est scié, assemblé par soudure, martelé et poli ; le tout entièrement à la main. Chacun est unique et possède une forme et un caractère qui lui sont propres.

- Le pendentif est également disponible sans chaîne.

A noter: dans la version sans chaîne l'anneau sera légèrement plus grand afin de permettre aux chaînes ou cordons de passer.
