▵ H I S T O R Y ▵
Lūnāris is a variation of our Crepitacula folk rattle, in limited edition of 3 and inspired by the lunar phases.
The duality of hues of this piece echoes the phases of the Moon.

Each one comes with one of my rustique medallions. One side represents a crescent moon while the other is adorned with a pentagram.

It is a traditional wicker rattle originated in the French medieval era and it is believed to have the magical power to protect newborns from the 7 deadly sins symbolised by the 7 seeds it contains.
It can also act as a general protection artefact.

Lūnāris was born from a collaboration with the weaver Lola / Les.Nuances.Fauves (lesnuancesfauves.fr)
Lola created the rattles and I crafted the medallions.

- Rattle material: transformed wicker / "black wicker", rattan splint
- Height: variable, about 22cm
- Medallions: recycled sterling silver - about 0.28 inches / 0.7cm
- Other details: 7 black beans, velvet ribbon, bell

Lūnāris est une déclinaison de notre hochet Crepitacula, en édition limitée à 3 exemplaires et inspiré des phases lunaires.
La dualité des teintes de cette pièce fait écho aux phases de la Lune.

Chacun est orné de l'un de mes médaillons rustiques. Une face représente un croissant de lune tandis que l'autre est décorée d'un pentagramme.

Il s'agit d'un hochet traditionnel en osier originaire de l'époque médiévale française et réputé posséder le pouvoir magique de protéger les nouveau-nés des 7 péchés capitaux symbolisés par les 7 graines qu'il contient.
Il peut également servir d’artefact de protection générale.

Lola a fabriqué les hochets et j'ai créé les médaillons.
