☽ DESCRIPTION ☾
This cup and saucer are Orfèvrerie Gallia by Christofle creations.
These pieces come from the "Rocaille" line.

Born with the XXth century, at the time of the famous Paris World Fair of 1900, the Gallia Collection takes its name from an alloy of metals that marked its era.
Like most Gallia creations these pieces present a gorgeous Art-Nouveau pattern with some Roccoco accents: flowers and a "Rocaille" (shell) cartouche.

This piece of French Art History would make a gorgeous addition to any decor or altar.

Both the saucer and cup wear the Orfèvrerie Gallia Hallmark.

☽ CONDITION ☾
Good vintage. A few signs of use (see photos).
Usable and sturdy.

NOTE: The then silver-plated silver metal seems to have lost its silver-plating.
It now has a slightly muted, soft and deeper sheen reminiscent of pewter.

These pieces are rather large:
- Cup: diameter (top) 9,80cm - diameter (bottom) 6,50cm - height 8cm
- Saucer: diameter: 18cm

Cette tasse et cette soucoupe sont des créations Orfèvrerie Gallia by Christofle.
Ces pièces sont issues de la ligne "Rocaille".

Née avec le XXe siècle, à l'occasion de la célèbre Exposition Universelle de Paris de 1900, la Collection Gallia tire son nom d'un alliage de métaux qui a marqué son époque.
Comme la plupart des créations Gallia, ces pièces présentent un magnifique motif Art-Nouveau avec quelques accents Roccoco : des fleurs et un cartouche "Rocaille" (coquillage).

Cette pièce d'histoire de l'art français ferait un magnifique ajout à n'importe quel décor ou autel.

La soucoupe et la tasse portent le poinçon Orfèvrerie Gallia.

☽ ÉTAT ☾
Bon état vintage. Quelques signes d'usure (voir photos).
Utilisable et robuste.

NOTE : Le métal argenté alors plaqué argent semble avoir perdu son argenture.
Il a maintenant un éclat légèrement atténué, doux et plus profond qui rappelle celui de l'étain.
